Assalamu Alaykum

I have been away for awhile, I know but Alhamdililah I am back I really did not realize how long I had been away from posting on this blog. I have just been so busy! You may have been wondering what I have been doing with myself. I have been making jewelry and learning to take better pictures of my jewelry item with the assistance of some new equipment that I purchased. I also opened my online store on Etsy. You can visit my store here. I am going to have a giveaway in a few weeks so leave a comment so that you can be included.

Mad Tv Can I have your number?

Here he goes again!

Mad TV Can I Have Your Number?

This is a classic exampleof how women are harassed when they do not cover. It is depicted here humorously but in reality it is really annoying when men harass you with their eyes and won't take no for an answer.

Shopping for curtains

I have been looking for some new curtains and I could not quite find what I liked so I searched for photos and look what I found. So Inshallah I am going to start looking for some fabric to drape across some plain white sheers, that way I can have coverage as well as let a bit of light in. I might share some before and after photos.

Heard any good jokes? I have!

Assalamu Alaykum, I was on the internet browsing to find new blogs and I found intlxpatr and this blogger found this joke that I want to share with you as well. I omitted one specific from the joke because I don't like to put bias on people and I did not want that on my blog.

A new employee calls the Help Desk to complain that there’s something wrong with her password. No, it’s not the usual caps-lock problem.

“The problem is that whenever I type the password, it just shows stars,” she says.

“Those asterisks are to protect you,” the Help Desk technician explains, “so if someone were standing behind you, they wouldn’t be able to read your password.”

“Yeah,” she says, “but they show up even when there is no one standing behind me.”

My love of cooking and cooking shows!

I found a new cooking show. It might not be new but it is new to me. I love cooking shows, Meshallah. And yes I get pretty grossed out when they start cooking pork and I have to shut the telly off. Many times I don't cook my food exactly as they do. But I love watching people cook, Meshallah. Maybe one day I could be a chef, Inshallah. My family loves my cooking. I take a lot of pleasure preparing meals.Below is a brief summary of the show. I missed most of the show I just saw him a the Chinese restaurant eating off dumpling spoons. Is there such a thing as dumpling spoons? There looked to be ceramic and the star of the cooking show and a guest were biting into these soup dumplings. As a Muslim I don't eat pork and I am not supporting the eating of pork if that was what they were doing. Again I stress I came in at the end of the show. It would have been nice to see what the Indian samosas looked like. I like samosas as well. I have made them for my family, they were light, crisp and tasty Meshallah. I baked them instead of frying them. Excuse me for rambling the show summary is below and there is a website http://toddenglish.com/foodtrip

"New York: The Surprise Inside" (Dumplings)• Episode #104
Join Todd English as he travels from Hell's Kitchen down through the East Village in New York City in search of distinct regional takes on the ubiquitous dumpling, a dish that changes with the culture and available ingredients. Along the way, Todd samples crisp and delicate Indian samosa; Polish pierogi, served with sour cream, fried onions, or apple compote; Jewish kreplach, and everything in between. In the Olives kitchen, Todd presents his own spin on the Chinese soup dumpling: potato gnocchi filled with tomato broth, lobster, and mozzarella.

I was like wow I really need to make this. The potatoe gnocci filled with tomatoe broth, lobster and mozzarella. He froze the tomatoe soup in ice trays and put them into the dumpling with the lobster and the mozzarella. He steamed them in a bamboo steamer, Man I have to get one of those steamers. Anyway back to the show, he put in some garlic lemon and long green onions( if I forgot to and something or something is amiss please leave a comment and let me know). in the bottom of the steamer and he put the dumplings in the top.

I have gathered that when making the potatoe gnocchi they put a whole in the middle of the potatoes and other ingrediatiens and placed the eggs there. from there he said that you don't really want to over handle the mixture. They rolled it out on a floured board and they sprinkled flour on the dumpling sac when they were forming the gnocchi.

Inshallah I will make this dish and make me some apple dumplings, the kind that Wendy's sold back in the day. I don't know why they stopped selling it. I want to make my own cinnamon sauce that they pumped all over the dumpling, Man oh man it was so good. My step father would buy us these as a treat and we would pt icecream, vanilla icecream allover the dumpling it had such a great taste. You know the taste of the hot dumpling and the cold ice cream colliding and tasting warm and savory.

To recap I need to Inshallah buy a potatoe ricer, mini icetrays, a wood board to roll out my dough, a rolling pin, and the bamboo steamer and some wood spoons and I need some more tongs my son bent mines so they're pretty much useless now. The chef was Todd English and now I am Inshallah going to make some gnocchi!

Natural Hair

One of the most valuable things I learned was about shampoo. Most shampoo has a chemical in it called Laurl sulfate. Laurl sulfate is a chemical that is put into shampoos to give you that lather. I love washing my hair and the more bubbles I see the more I felt my hair was clean. However Laurl sulfate is drying to your hair and can cause breakage. Breakage is not a good thing. I found that I could clean my hair with what is called a co-wash. Which is a conditioner wash or I could wash my hair with a baking soda and water solution or do a acv rinse which is a apple cider vinegar rinse. So what I did was I started reading the ingredients stay awaying from parabens and alcohol.

Alhamdililah reverting to Islam has made me more aware and I am so happy, Meshallah that Allah has guided me!

You might think that what I am saying is strange but if you really think about it people with kinky hair such as mine need different products for their hair to grow and be healthy, Meshallah. After much research I have discovered that a lot of the products I bought were not products produced the kind of results I wanted.

Now I use shea butter in my hair, sta-sof-fro sheen spray which I plan to start using vegetable glycerin/water mixture when I run out and amla oil as a hot oil treatment. This is all I use and it is sufficient. This is also all I use in my children hair. I do two strand twists and afros with a headband but I want to try braid outs one day when my hair gets a little longer Inshallah. However there are a few hair products that I want to try and I will share that with you at another time Inshallah.

Sisters this is how Allah created me with my kinky, curly and sometimes nappy hair. I don't mean that in a bad way. I love it Meshallah. I just wanted to share my experience if you have any questions please feel free to ask them.

Inshallah, I will make hijrah and I don't want to have to rely on many of the things I use in this dunya. It is the Sunnah to try to look our best. May Allah Guide us and make us better than we are. Amin

Liver Flush

Inshallah I am trying to be healthier and lose a few pounds in the process. I have been drinking apple cider vinegar with a glass of water in the morning when I wake up. I just put a table spoon of vinegar in an 8 ounce glass of water and I drink it, I really don't know what the purpose it but I have heard that it helps flush out the liver and it lowers your blood pressure. At times I get stressed out and my family has a history of high blood pressure. I also learned from a Youtuber that Asian woman drink apple cider vinegar and honey during the day. Maybe that is why I rarely see an overweight woman of Asian descent. If you are going to try this you should use organic apple cider vinegar that is unfiltered, Apparently regular apple juice is filtered and it gets rid of the "mother"which is something that is very good for you. Braggs has an excellent brand of apple cider vinegar which is what I use. I am not a doctor so if you are trying this at your own risk and you might want to do some research or contact your doctor. I am not giving advice I can only tell you what works for me, Meshallah.

I am going to try a liver flush Inshallah next week after I get all the necessary items on my shopping list. Below is the Full strength Liver flush Recipe that I am going to try.

I found this info from the site below: http://groups.msn.com/Donaturalremedieswork/themightyliverflush.msnw.

Check with your natural health practitioner first. If you are feeling weak or toxic or fragile I suggest you do a half strength one first.

I'll start with the ingredients and then the instructions.

Bottle One:

80MLS OF EPSOM SALT CRYSTALS

Most say "not to be taken" which is a safety mechanisn on their part)

420 mls of cold water
280mls of apple juice

Mark out 5 equal portions on the bottle and shake well.

Bottle Two:

80mls of olive oil
250mls of pink grapefruit juice

If you're squeezing your own pink grapefruit juice make it 150 mls of juice and 100 mls of water

If you're squeezing the slightly harsher yellow grapefruit juice make it 125mls of grapefruit juice and 125 mls of water.

If you're using harsher again lemon juice make the mixture 60mls lemon juice/190mls water.

GRAPEFRUIT IS BEST THOUGH.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.If you can manage it, drink 4 litres of apple juice, a day, for two days before the flush.

2.On the day of the flush eat only fruit and vegetables.

3. At 2 o'clock stop eating and drink only apple juice and water or straight apple juice.

4. At 6 pm drink two portions of bottle one (with epson salts etc..)

5. Allow 15 mins to work through your system before you continue taking regular apple juice and water. It's important to continue drinking to prevent dehyradtion and to assist with the watery bowel motions that the epson salts will induce.

6. The first dose of bottle one should cause you to have two watery bowel motions. IF IT DOESN'T

7.Drink a single portion of bottle one at 8 pm

8. At ten pm shake up all of bottle two well (which you haven't yet partaken of) and swallow.

9. Within two minutes lie down on the floor (not your bed) on your right hand side and hold your knee hard up against your chest for 30-45 minutes.

Prepare beforehand for this situation with a mat and warm blanket and play some Quran

10. After 30-45 mins quickly release your leg with a kick.

11. Go straight to bed.

12. Get up at 6am and drink another portion of bottle one.

13. In the morning when you go to the toilet via bowel, look for liver/gallblader stones floating in the bowl. They range in size from pins and needles to as big as the tip of a man's thumb. Average size is pea size. Colour is either green or tan.

14. If you don't go to the toilet twice take another portion of bottle one at 8am.

15. Around 12 midday start eating lightly again and kindly email me any increased energy/health benefits.

Afterthoughts: For me eating heavy foods too early after flush triggers spinal arthritis and headaches which is latent in me anyway. I still feel beautiful in the mind but I've robbed myself. I think most livers would go into cultural shock when subjected to anything other than fruits, vegetables or soups on the day after. I'd be very careful with grains, bread, cheese or dairy products the day after.

Here's an address for a 9 variations of the liver flush.
http://www.curezone.com/cleanse/liver/
If you choose to use more olive oil like many of them do, be aware that there is more chance of waking up with nausea.
To counter this I would have some V8 vegetable juice on hand to gulp down or maybe some prune juice.
A cup =200mls, a mug =250mls

In bottle two of the liver flush I find 80mls of olive oil is right for me but you could try 100-125mls.

Here's an Auckland woman's results:

Amazing Qur'an recitation for a kid

Meshallah, the Quran softens the heart, I never tired of hearing the same surah over and over again. When I listen to this young child recite it brings tears to my eyes.

Genevieve Andre

I have made dua and asked that if it is the will of Allah that he allow me to get back in contact with a sister that I loss contact with. We learned and studied Islam together and me and my family gave her dawah on deen. I just want her to know that I want good for her as I want good for myself and that there are some things that I would like to discuss with her. Alhamdililah the religion Islam is perfect it is the people that are not. We must all strive Inshallah to be more like our righteous predecessors and follow the example of the Prophet Muhammed sallahi allayhi wassilem, for he is the best example for us to follow.

A little about me.

Assalamu Alaykum, I have been busy with the family and I don't want to rant so I won't Inshallah.
I will ask this question. Do you want for your sister as you want for yourself. I can say that I do Meshallah but I want to reach out to other sisters and develop friendships. Are we not on the deen of our friends. I have a desire to learn to speak and write Arabic and learn more about Islam and talk to another sister that has the same or similiar interests. I also taught myself to knit by watchingknitting videos on youtube. I enjoy doing crafts and I want some friends. I understand that you are busy with housework and the children, so am I but I want a best friend I had one but I don't know where she is. Make dua for me and I will make dua for me and other sisters like me Inshallah.

Jazkallahu Kiran

Blogging about your personal life is a big deal Meshallah and I am thankful Meshallah for the Muslim sister who took it upon themselves to start blogging about their lives and sharing their trials and tribulations. May Allah give me the courage to do so also.

Because of these sisters experiences I have had many of my questions and concerns addressed. Allah has answered my duas concerning my wanting to be aware of obstacles and avoiding fitnah.
May Allah guide us. Amin
